Blue tint in monitor.

Secondary Monitor - Yellow Tint / No Blue Color Correction?

  • When I plug into the left port on my graphics card (XFX Radeon HD 4890), the secondary monitor (no matter what monitor or what cable I use, no bent pins) has a yellow tint. In the Catalyst Control Center, when I try to adjust the blue color levels, nothing happens. Green and red levels work fine. Clearly my graphics card's left port is unable to display blue colors. Whats up with that? Any suggestions? I've already filed a ticket with XFX.

  • Answer:

Its seems to be an issue with the graphics card. There could be a connection missing on the graphic card's blue output pin (For a VGA connector, pin#3 is for BLUE out.For DVI its C3, one of the 4 pins which stand seperate from the array ). So, like you said, the pin on the monitor may not be bend, but the connection to the pin3 port on the card might be faulty. I think you might use a lens and inspect the same. Best option would be to send it to the experts. DVI pinout http://www.vellone.com/support/dvi/dvi.htm
