Why can't I change my desktop background with Windows 7?

WTF? My desktop is brown on windows 7! Cant change it.?

• No matter what I do, the default background color for my windows 7 is brown. I have a picture Id like to use that is in black and white for my desktop, with slate gray windows, but with BROWN showing on both sides of the pic, it doesnt look very good. I tried to change the background to black, and then to the pic, but that just puts the edges back to brown. I even tried making a new theme with the "solid color" background of black, but when I save it, the color shown in the thumbnail in my themes is brown and it instantly creates an "unsaved theme" with brown. When I click the unsaved one, and then click back to the one that I saved as black........ ITS BROWN!!!!!!!!!!! What the H-E-double hokey sticks!!!!!
