How can I restore my vista computer?

please help. My computer may have a virus and I would like to see if I can restore my computer. However, when I go to system restore, the only dates I can restore to are today. I have tried inputting a description to create a restore point but it only comes up as today's time and date. How can I restore it to either original settings or two weeks ago>?
Answer:

To truly perform the type of restore that removes a virus you need the restore disc that came with the computer. You then google the computer model and instructions on using the restore disc (some restore discs have instructions with them).
