What's a good webcam compatible with windows 7 64-bit?

32bit and 64bit windows editions whats the difference?

  • I have a new amd desktop with a am2 amd dual core 64 cpu.I run windows xp pro sp3 "32 bit edition" with 1.5gig of ram. Would i be better of switching to the 64bit edition of xp pro or vista? What is the difference?

    Well, the "difference" is that 64-bit operating system can run 64-bit code as well as address memory in 64-bits. 32-bit memory addressing has a 4GB meaning that if you want to use 4 GBs of RAM or more, you'd need a 64-bit operating system to get things done. However, there really isn't any software out there that takes advantage of 64-bit processors so the only real difference is the amount of ram you can have. For your use and on your computer, I'd say stick with Windows XP. There's little reason to upgrade to 64-bit.

There's more stability and speed to be found in 64-bit editions but a few more headaches because most software is not yet written for 64-bit operating. Xp pro 64-bit ftw, less requirements on the hardware you have and from the sounds of it you don't have a motherboard that can support 8gb.

basically , the only difference is speed, youll defenitely want to go with the 64 bit edition . because a lot of software isnt yet written for 64 bit edition . but in the near future theyll make less for 32bit and more for 64bit . and you dont want to buy 2 so go with 64 . much faster and easier to find your files on

No it is a very bad idea to switch to 64-bit yet especially 1.5 GB. Entirely different; all and this is sure ALL the drivers have to be reinstalled with their 64-bit versions, 32-bit would not work. Think of a tank as 64 and a car as 32. Which one is faster in a race? A very good reason for going 64 is processing speed; this was THE reason for Apple to go from Lisa's 16-bit to Mac's 32-bit, it probably is the catalyst for Windows Aero and Mac OS X on 64-bit.
