Hypothetical question about motherboard and CPU?

Motherboard and CPU upgrade question?

  • A while ago my dad offered to pay for some upgrades for my desktop computer. Not knowing anything really about hardware and wanting to keep things simple I just ordered a new Cpu, 2 more gigs of Ram and a new video card. Now i'm having real regrets that I didnt upgrade my motherboard as it's really hurting my performance. It's limiting me to dual core core 2 duos and only 4 gigs of ram. Current motherboard: *http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=uk&lc=en&docname=c00864946#N183 So my question is could I pick up *http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.763268 and install it without any problems? I guess what i'm most worried about (besides figuring out where all the cords go haha) is if my PSU can support this new setup. My old CPU was 65w and this new one is 95w. *Current PSU (after a quick google search, not sure) 250-watt (max) power supply (Zinfandel), Bestec ATX-250-12V) - 100-120VAC and 200-240VAC input (switch selectable), 50/60Hz

  • Answer:

Dude your kind of backwards, start from the mono and go from there, what if CPU, gfx are not compatible?
