Problem with Bully on Virtual PC?

Problem with my PC. over the past fiew months, my pc has been randomly freezing and locking up.?

  • Over the past few months, my pc has been randomly locking up and freezing, I am left unable to move the mouse or anything, with the only option to turn the machine off or reset it. Initially this freezing only occurred under heavy loads, (Softimage XSI, rendering) but over the past few months its got worse, and its now at the point where even a couple of tabs open on the internet explorer causes the pc to freeze. I thought it might have been a problem with my CPU overheating, so Ive cleaned very single part of the pc, and even gone to the extreme of replacing the thermal paste on the cpu. However the freezing still occurred. I then thought it could be the lack of power my PSU provides as ive added 2x HDDs over the years, so i bought a new one which is more than capable of providing sufficient power to all my components under full load, (rendering) but this STILL doesn't solve my freezing problem. And today Ive replaced me RAM and my system seems more stable,e (eg, it doesn't freeze with a few tabs open on internet explorer) however it still crashes when being asked to render. Atm im tempted to re-format the PC just to rule out any software problems. My PC is about 5 years old now, and its always hacked what Ive thrown at it no matter what, its been under a LOT more load in the past than what I'm asking it to do now. Its been very stable up until these past few months, and the only modifications I've made to it are the extra HDDs I've mentioned above. Any help welcome, and sorry for the giant essay.

  • Answer:

The Windows operating system constantly refers to the registry to get information about all of the components such as hardware and software which are installed on the computer. The registry tells Windows what to do and how to access the various programs, files, and processes. However, the registry can contain bad information which sends Windows off doing useless tasks or running unneeded routines. Sometimes errors occur including the freezeing. Other times the system slows down. Because of the sheer number of factors that can affect the registry, there’s no one size fits all approach. You can’t just go into the registry and remove the bad information because it’s nearly impossible to decipher which information is good and which information is bad. That’s a job better suited for software. I should like to commend Registry Easy http://computer-e-book-money.com to you ! You can try ! Good luck!

Might try downloading ccleaner and running it once a day. It's free and a crap cleaner. Great tool! Also has a built in registry cleaner.
