Physical memory dumping for windows XP?

Windows blue screen XP?

  • I have been getting the blue screen of death with my acer laptop windows xp. However the last few days i've noticed a small sort of IM box has been popping up with my normal automatic start up programs. the IM box looks something like a screen from Oovoo but it isnt. it says "Que Rogers has added you to his/her contact list.:" with like an option to decline or accept. well i never EVER click on the box. i always go to the bottom of my screen and right click then close from there. But right when i do that i get the blue screen with info like "dumping of memory space to something disk" etc.... HELP ---asap pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee thank you so much (please explain resolution of this matter in ELMO terms, i didnt take up Computer Science in college)

Hello, Chrissy ! you might have a trojan, or a worm or other virus, but there's an easy way to deal with the problem. Power off the computer, completely off. RE-start it, and , as the bios power on self test is just about done, press and hold down the f8 key. HOLD IT DOWN! until you get the advanced startup menu, and choose safe mode...It will take the computer a longer time to start this way, so be patient. When windows does finally start up. and it will, it will, just be patient...you will be given the option to continue in safe mode, or to use system restore to return your computer to a previous working condition...choose an older restore point, not the most recent... and let windows fix itself...(when I do this procedure for other people, i tend to choose the oldest point possible, preferrably one not caused by an installation...The safe mode will load only the basic drivers needed by windows to run, and should not trigger the blue screen, which is usually caused by either a line of code referencing an area of memory windows has set aside for itself, (windows protection fault) or else it has replaced the executable code pointer's original instruction set with one that points to a non-existent registry key or memory heap, triggering the instant bsod and resulting crash and burn..As soon as you are able go to the microsoft support center, and download (for free ) their security essentials....Then visit malwarebytes.org. and download their FREE anti-crapware and run them both...they work particularly well together...
