How do I fix a PC video game problem?

Video game lag on my PC. I can't find the root of the problem.?

  • I have a top of the line computer running windows 7. I have a DSL wired connection, Speedtest.net puts my internet at 4.23 mb/s download speed, .60 mb/s upload speed and 32ms ping. But when playing any video game, even at lowest graphic settings (my computer can max just about anything) I experience a ridiculous amount of latency, average 200 ping, spikes up in the thousands. Does anyone have any troubleshooting advice?

  • Answer:

Did you buy or build this computer? What graphics card do you have? Power supply? Cpu? I need system specs to figure this out.

Check your monitor driver. My computer does the same thing if I don't load the correct monitor driver.

A gameing computer requires at least 4 gig of ram to eliminate any lag in performance.

some ISP stuff can coz that like interleaving .... use fraps to know what coz the lag ? if u get high frames (over 30 fps) then u can be sure that the lag caused by connection latency.

I would say Add RAM & download reginout
