My computer sound please help!?

my computer has been really weird about sound lately idk why. it playing everything fine. ex. off youtube or where ever. it also works on oovoo video chatting. however if i try to record a sound on sound-cloud or a video on facebook it doesnt work. i tryed a few things like configuring sound and mic but that doesnt do anything at all. any ideas on what might be going on? PLEASE!

What software (this is a software question) are you trying to record with. You need something that can accept a streaming input to be able to record, it has nothing to do with the mic.
