What graphics cards work for my computer?

• heres an easy one for the tech people of the world. iv'e recently started to use my computer for gaming again, and i have also jus got hold of a copy of thief 3 deadly shadows. (what can i say i liked the first 2) problem i have is this version needs pixel shader 1.1, how ever my computer being as old as it is doesn't have a graphics card. so i looking up several upgrades i could buy; ram cards, processors, motherboard, cooling systems and of course the graphics card. i started looking up ram cards to begin thinking a faster computer would run things such as minecraft better. i found out that there are different formats of cards (ddr, ddr2 & ddr3) so i did some research and found my computer works on ddr after biding on a few ddr2 cards (thank god so one out bid me on eBay) now i just started flicking through graphics cards and bidding on a few. i then noticed that one of them had in there description that it worked on a ddr system. this majorly scared the heck out of due to the fact that none of the cards i have bid on stated this before.
