How to play DVD in a Mac Book Pro?

Should i get a imac or mac-book pro?

• ok so here is my story, im starting college soon or im thinking about it, and i am sick of my dell inspiron it keeps running out of room, and it keeps breaking. :/ but i have been looking for a new computer for some time now and my birthday is coming up soon so ive decided its time to move on (sorry dell) :) but i cant pick between a imac or a mac book pro. my boyfriend is looking into getting a mac book pro for himself, and we were talking about getting me a imac but im iffy because of what i want it used for (look at bottom for uses :D ). so im wondering if some of the users of both can give me pros and cons if any for both :) and ideas on what kind of space i should get on it and what sized screen, ive looked and its just hard to pick so based on the little list down below what sounds good?? here are some of my uses for what i will most likely be using it for: i love photography so i will have a lot of photo editing on it and ill be saving a lot of pictures im a gamer girl so ill prob play a lot of games on it, most likely my SIMS games (dorky i know but its a part of life) ill have a lot of music on it and it will have a lot of documents and pictures saved on it. for those who have the mac book pro how is the battery life? and for both how are the graphics from what ive seen before its pretty good but everyone has there opinion, id like yours :) any and all help is much appreciated :)

  I really don't get why people like Macs, Windows pcs are half the price for the same speed and performance... Oh and more games. Either imac or the macbook pro will properly fulfill your needs, yet a $650 laptop or a $600 desktop Windows pc performs the same or better...
