How do I get my icons back onto my desktop? (for Windows Vista)?

I SOMEHOW hid all my icons on my desktop and i have no idea how to get them back. There's a little button on my menu bar at the bottom that when i click gives me a list of all my icons but how do i get them back onto my desktop?

Try to see if this helps you ! Go to Control Panel \ Personalize (or right-click on the desktop and select Personalize), and then choose the link for "Change Desktop Icons" on the left-hand side. Now you can chose the icons you want back on the desktop by checking the box next to the name: Click the Apply button, and you should see the icon show up on the desktop immediately.
