Ok first of all, my budget is $2000, definately no higher than $2500. Obviously the cheaper the better, but i want quality aswell. Now first of all i got 2 computers to show you guys to see what u think 1.http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Intel-i7-960-12GB-RAM-1TB-ATI-6970-24-1200W-/270689246403?pt=AU_comp_dekstop&hash=item3f06561cc3#ht_6922wt_905 2. http://www.dell.com/au/p/studio-xps-7100/pd.aspx?c=au&cs=audhs1&l=en&s=dhs&~ck=mn Now the 2nd one is what Dell reccomended for my budget. The games i wanna play are games such as Starcraft,Rift,WoW,DC Universe online, Cod: Mw2 and pretty much u know the high end games, but mainly MMO's will be played on it. I also am studying Computer science at university, so wouldnt mind a computer that can handle good software ill be using and attaining for free from uni. I wouldnt mind an Alienware desktop, though it seems thats more pricey, if anyone could find me a good cheap one in my budget that will play games in decent quality, i'd like that. Also i was thinking about building a custom computer with my cousin, though im not very computer savy (Though his alrite at it, his built some before) and i was wondering whats some good specs for a good gaming computer, so i know what to aim for. Also would it be better if i bought a desktop or a laptop? i have a basic laptop so that means i still need to buy a monitor (Aiming for 22-24inch) and a computer desk (Roughly $200-$300 will be spent on that)

i'm sure you know this, but a perfect gaming computer must have high processing capabilities, higher memory and storage and definitely excellent graphics. the one from ebay (first link) seems like a good fit (Intel 3.2GHz i7 processor, 12GB memory, great graphics card, 1TB HDD). the only thing less hesre is the hard drive, 1TB isn't enough (but you can always upgrade when storage space is needed). i wouldn't recommend the Dell though; i've had all bad experiences with AMDs. Alienware is the best, but you're right... too expensive.

You could build a better computer for half of your budget to fit to your own personal gaming needs and it would last longer. When you a buy a computer from a store they use the cheapest parts possible to make the more of them, when you build your own you can get top quality parts that will last much longer. If you're not good with computers, have someone build you one and pay for labor. My friend Craig built mine and it cost me $1100 (100 of it was for labor) This thing is the best computer I've ever owned and will probably last me forever.
Here's the deal. Never buy gaming computers from dell or alienware. If you can try to build it yourself. if not go to cyberpc.com, http://www.ibuypower.com/, or http://stealthmachines.com/quality/build/customize.php?computerid=16 Have them build your computer for you. They have better options then alienware and better prices. Some of them will even tweak and overclock your components for you.
u can either build one if u know how to ( if i had that much to spend building my pc, i would have the most beast mode computer on the planet!! lol) or u can buy one from hp for about that much. trust me go to hp.com and look up their highest end computer that they have. those specs are not bad and it wont even be 2000 dollars. maybe like 1500 dollars plus the shipping. it will be brand new on top of that. alright u want to aim for ddr2 or ddr3 ram. at least 2 gigs of either will be fine. but u want to shoot for 6 to 8 gigs. u want minimum of 2.0 ghz of clockspeed but u want to aim for anything past 2.5 ghz. if u can get 3.0 ghz that should be perfect.also u WANT more than one core. just trust me. if its intel core then fine. 1 core will do but it better be an i7 core or nothing at all.we're talking high end pcs right? amd cores are good too, and cheaper, so u want a quad core amd phenom core. iv used a quad core before they are really fast. oh yea u want a 1 terabyte hard drive and windows 7 ULTIMATE 64 BIT not HOME PREMIUM CUZ ITS NOT THE SAME! 64 bit allows u to have more ram so i would shoot for this. finally a blu ray or dvd rewritable drive and u should be set. go to hp.com and look for these specs and u should be golden. :) u can build it too. its not hard and MIGHT be a little cheaper than buy one prebuilt.
