Can I use an HDD in my computer that was intended for a DVR?
-
I recently purchased a Seagate DB35.3 (which is intended for use as a DVR or Media PC storage device), and was interested in running it in my computer as standard hard drive (for the Windows OS and the like). I only ask this because my original 1Tb Seagate appears to be the cause of my BSODs within Windows, and want to make sure that that hard drive really is the problem. Thanks!

Answer:
If it is SATA (looks like that model can come in PATA or SATA) then yes you will be able to use it in windows. Just put it into your computer and treat it like a normal hardrive. If it is PATA it should still work but its an older technology and some newer motherboards don't even have those connectors.
