My Desktop Computer won't turn on?

My desktop computer wont turn on..help?

  • Okay so for like a year I hadn't used my desktop computer at least... and when I went to turn it on well it turned on but nothing appeared on the screen then I shut it off myself... I tried to turn it on again heard a weird kind of buzzing or high pitch buzzing noise then it would shut off. When I would unplug the tower and replug it it would momentarily turn on have the buzzing noise then turn off... Now it won't turn on at all and not sure if the computer is just dead for good or if this is able to be fixed... Please if you got an idea of what I am talking about share your solutions. Even if it's to buy a new computer..I'd like to know if it's able to be fixed or not :/

    Noise came because of RAM problem.So remove & clean the dust in RAM & its slots.Then plug the same & try to switch on.If any problem post the error in same.

"...weird kind of buzzing or high pitch buzzing noise" A PSU (power supply unit) can make that type of noise when it is dying, the rest of the PC may well be okay it's just the PSU that has failed and this will need to be replaced. This is a PSU- http://www.dansdata.com/images/eg651p/psu440.jpg

Installation goes like this, put the OS Disk in CD reader, as you are booting up, press F12, this will give you a Boot Menu, choose boot from CD, as it is firing up watch the lower left corner of your screen, when asked to press any key to boot from CD, do so, (any key). When asked the type of Format, choose Full Format, this will clean the disk right off, including bugs.Follow the prompts, job's done. Warning! Before you install, get all your goodies off or they will go in the format.
