How to install gokogiri on Windows?

Windows 7 64-bit Install Problem.?

  • Now, I have recently acquired a 40GB HDD, which works perfectly fine. My problem is, Windows doesn't. Here's my story: After sorting out my disks, I proceeded to move my Windows 7 64-bit installation onto my new 40GB HDD. My old 20GB HDD will now be used as a Temporary drive. My problem: Everything installed fine (it seemed). I booted into windows for the first time and found my fresh new desktop. Windows automatically installed 4 updates. Restarted, no problem. Now, Windows now found it's usual 40 updates. Installed these, now when I reboot, Windows logo flashes up (Starting Windows) then disappears and I am left with Windows loading into Start-up Recovery Mode. I installed Windows again, and managed to Narrow it down to one of the Windows 7 x64 Security Updates. My question I pose is: Why, when Windows worked fine with every update installed (when it was on my 20GB HDD [Ripped out of a Xbox]), does it choose to not work with one of these updates installed (On my new 40GB HDD)? I know it is not a HDD issue as left without such updates installed it runs perfectly fine. Just as before. Can anyone shed any light on my situation. I really, really can't be bothered to install 40 updates one by one and restart after each to find out which update it is. For the record: I do not need advice on using system restore, or checking the disks. I have tried this many times and am to the point of pulling my hair out.

    Can you try a third hard drive? Maybe that would help. You could install an antivirus program before you let windows update. You could check in the BIOS to see if you can find a problem (example: one of your memory sticks failed). Did you try going back to the 20 GB hard drive to see if it still works after installing the updates? If it doesn't work it would seem to me to indicate that either you didn't ever have that update OR it was installed in a different order to other software (such as an antivirus program). I don't really know the exact solution to your problem but these are all trouble shooting steps that I would take if I had such a problem. I hope something here helps!

The size of the HD is not the problem it is one or may-be two of the updates (sorry but to find out which is going to be a long job) I would install the OS with the auto update turned off then go to the update site and select the oldest 15 updates and follow that install if that goes fine then do the next 15 and so on until the failure on an install where you roll back to the last know good point and then limit the updates to a few at a time Another way is to look through the list of the updates and see if there are any that show up as failed on your history (deselect them) and continue to persevere on the task of getting to the latest state of an OS
