How to format my computer?

  • Hi.i want to format my computer. how to format my computer? plz tell procedure in detail. M using Avast Antivirus Home Edition. Is there any necessary to format all the drivers or only 'C' driver formating will be suficient? If i do back up some of my software n after formating re-boot them, will the software be virus free??

    format c: from a command promot will format your C drive but everything will be gone. format mbr will format your master boot record. You will have to reload everything.

simple procedure: **Insert ur os cd on your dvd rom. **Restart the pc **press F8 while restarting. **select ur DVD rom which contains the os cd. **Your system will start formatting.

first insert windows xp o.s cd and set 1st boot device as cd or dvd then there will be a msg like "press any key to boot from cd" then press any key after that just read and proceed and select only c: then it will restart then it again ask the same msg lik "press any key.....etc" this time u dont let it be done and all some key,date,settings select the thing u requred after that it will restart again and dont press any key if it displays any msg also then install drivers after that install antivirus after that scan whole system then upto this process over dont open other drives like d,e,f ..etc this is a sol ..

If you have a os cd then format it.(e. g XP) Other wise Do not format it. Fist of all copy all data in external drive like documents, pictures. After that insert cd and work according to below article.
