How do I fix sound card issues with Windows 7?

I installed Windows 7 this weekend on my HP Pavilion 6150y. The sound no longer works and the sound card is not recognized. My sound card is a Creative Sound Blaster Xi-fi (Audigy). I tried to download a new driver but Windows 7 says the card is not installed so it won't accept the driver. I was able to download the latest version of RealTek Audio for the speakers but without the sound card that doesn't do me much good. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?
