What is wrong with my Desktop?

Desktop PC Fan on off not working, what 's wrong with that ?

  • my frd told me her desktop fan on off not working, when she trun on her pc, its work in the begining, but when pc on for a half an hours(or less then that) fan auto stop, n she re-start again, fan is working again, what's wrong with the pc ? if it is motherboard fan, what wrong with it ? if that's power supply fan, what's wrong with that ? anyone can help advise ? thanks

I had the same problem with the processor fan on an old pc. Turned out that the fan tightened up when it got hot, causing it to slow down and eventually stop. I fitted a new fan.

Either the power source on the motherboard could be going or the fan could be heating up too much and force it to stop, find a way to lubricate the fan (after taking it out of the computer) then replace it and if that doesn't work, you may need a new fan.
