Liquid Cooling?

Alienware Aurora Liquid cooling issue?

  • So for the past week or so I noticed my alienware making an odd noise. It could be what i could only describe as a swishing sound coming from my computer (A sound similar to that if there were air bubbles trapped in the liquid cooling) Now I do not know an extensive amount about computer hardware, especially that like this. But this leads me to my current problem. I started my computer today to find my rear fan (the one connected to the liquid cooling) running fast and being EXTREMELY loud. I would have to assume that my liquid cooling has completely failed and that now my rear fan is basically cooling nothing. I tried to further diagnose the problem by finding out what the cpu temp was only to have the computer shut down on me. Which i would also assume is because of over heating.

  • Answer:

I would assume that the pump in your cooling loop has failed or at the very least not working properly. Even if the fan connected on the radiator was not working I would think it could still dissipate enough hea to boot with just the pump sending warm water to the radiator.
