Why is my hp wireless mouse not working?

While working on my hp desktop my mouse stops working and I have reboot to get it working again how do I fix?

While playing games or just surfing the web my mouse stops working, the keyboard stops working. In order to get it to work again I have to restart the computer each time. There have been times when that has failed and I have had to unplug the computer from the wall and then plug in again after doing that it start to reconginze the screen, mouse and keyboard again but this happening more and more. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Answer:

you can take many steps check the drivers do a virus scan plug in different mouse and keyboard and if none of them work reinstall windows.
