if you delete a partition on a hard drive, will the data in that partition be lost or moved to another partition?
-
Answer:
It will be lost. It will not be moved to another partition. Or, to be more precise - it will not be accessible (but isn't necessarily lost, if you've done something you shouldn't).

It will be lost. If you delete a partition it becomes RAW data and repartitioning requires a reformat before usage.
