Can you partition a drive without erasing data?

If you delete a partition on a hard drive, will the data in that partition be lost or moved to another...?

It will be lost. If you delete a partition it becomes RAW data and repartitioning requires a reformat before usage.

there are hard drive partitioning softwares which claim to be able to delete a partition and save the data. try cnet.com -- downloads-- utilities and read the descriptions carefully.

yes if u delete it when u r in the windows ..then u cant even get that space of disk ..u need to use some software to get that full disk space back
