Why my computer can't load Wikipedia?

I cant load Win XP. I get "XP is inspecting your computer's hardware config." & it hangs! When Booting frm CD?

  • Hi, I cant load Win XP. I get "XP is inspecting your computer's hardware configuration" & it hangs! When Booting from a CD. Tried XP SP/1, SP2 & SP/3 with no luck. It's a new hard disk drive Iam trying to set up & there is no partion of any kind on it. Been doing same kind of settings on other PC's with no problems at all. What could be the problem here?

    Sounds like the bios may not be recognising the hard disk. If its an IDE drive check the links are set to Master; if SATA try plugging into a different socket on the motherboard (there are different versions of SATA!) or see if the hard drive manufacturer has a converter to make the drive compatible with SATA1.
