Can folders be prioritized instead of alphabetical?

Question on hidden folders in C drive of Vitsa Home Premium with Vista Service pack 1?

  • wanting to check with other Vista Users to see if they see these Items I thought I'd open up the hidden folders in C drive to see if anything is strange. Below are some of the items I did not notice before. they may have been there, I just never noticed them I was wanting to see if other Vista machines have the following hidden folders/items in C drive I just want to make sure that these are not a result of the possible W32.IRCbot infection My computer was purchased new around July 2007 so some of these folders were originally created I guess at manufacturing I never noticed these because the folders are in alpha order and there were some folders for the bigfish games that I deleted, so these could have been there and I didn't notice them before Folders: $Recycle.Bin created 11/2/06 Boot created 4/25/07 13.6MB bunch of sub-folders like en-US ja-JP also items BCD system file 32kb and BCD text document 256 kb both seem to renew daily around midnight Documents and Settings has the little arrow like shortcut (no properties) created 11/2/06 When I try to open it I get this message : C:Documents and Setting is not accessable access denied System Volume Information (empty) created 4/25/07 When I try to open it I get this message C:System Volume Information is not accessable access denied Item: pagefile.sys No property info so any Vista Home Premium w/ Vista Service pack 1 users, can you verify if you have these items?

  • Answer:

You still have files from two years ago in your Recycle Bin? I don't. The Recycle bin isn't a common hiding place for malware files, but System Restore is. See if you can delete those files. If so, then they were safe. If you can't, then you have something to worry about. Hope that helps.
