How do you clear everything off a Mac as if it were new?

• I'm fine with using Disk Utility, it's just what do I erase to get EVERYTHING gone from my mac? It's really slow and I have all my stuff from previous years (which I doubt i'll need). Here are my options of what to delete: 232.9 GB WDC WD2500J austin <-- This is my Hard Drive 465.8 GB hitachi 4TS54 <-- WTF is this!? I want to delete EVERYTHING please, and even if it's not using Disk utility i'm cool. Adding on though, it won't let me delete my hard drive and I don't have the original Cd's from when you first buy the mac.

  You erase the startup volume. The original name was "Macintosh HD". A volume is a file system or partition. You list two pieces of hardware or physical drives. Those could have any number of volumes, but if you are asking, I'm guessing they are one volume each, which is the default format option.
