How to restore your computer to factory settings without a disk?

How to restore dell Inspiron computer with windows Vista to factory settings using a disk?

  • Hello everyone, I want to do a DELL PC Recovery to factory settings. I accidentally deleted the recovery partition a while ago, so I have to use the CD that came with my PC. I don't want to REINSTALL the windows completely, so please don't tell me to plug in the disk and press Install. I know that I have to go to "Repair my PC" and then to Command prompt to launch the disk, but The commands I found on the internet don't work for me! Please help, What exactly should I do? Thank you very much!

  • Answer:

As far as i am aware you cannot repair or recover that windows without the partition which you deleted. If you want to use your pc again, I can only suggest to re-install windows. The disc the computer comes with is just software that decompresses the windows installation on the partition on your hard drive. But now you've deleted it, that disc is going to be of no use to you.
