Desktop computer wont turn on after pulling the cord out...?
-
Well, I was on my computer, and it locked up. As it was prone to do. I attempted to wait for the programs to close, when that failed, I launched the task manager to try and fix my issue. The task manager failed to open. I decided the best course of action was a manual shut-down from the button on the front. Yet again, this process failed to yield results. After an hour or so, with no progress, I unplugged the power cord from the back of my computer. While not the best choice, I do feel it was necessary. I went to reboot, and my computer has since stopped working. I have tried new cords, new outlets, and new rooms. I cant fix it. What could have happened when I removed the cord that could stop it from starting?

An electrical overload can cause a drive error, as can a sudden loss of power. Take your computer in for repairs.
well...put the plug back in! lol
It appears your hard drive was about to crash anyway, and unplugging and plugging it back on, just drove the last nail in it's coffin. You could take it in for repairs, but There may be none for it, once the hard drive goes. Maybe they can re-install a new hard drive, but then you will have to up load, a new operating system, assuming you have the back up disks. You may just have to bite the bullet, and buy a new one. If the one that crashed, isn't that old, and you have the OS. still, call a repair shop and check out their repair charges. At least you will have an idea, of the costs, and can make a decision, on which way to go.
I guessing no post on the screen, no lights. Since the computer was running on full load when you pulled the plug, power supply fried your fuse. On some power supplies, you have light on power supply case is it on? If not, then your power supply is fried. Replace. The power supply can cause CPU problems and lockups. The power supply was supplying low voltage or brown out on your motherboard. Check your fans on your case and CPU. Are they freely move or do you feel a flat area. Then trash can the fan and install new fan. Are you hanging a number of USB items on your computer. I would increase your wattage by 100 watts. If you have 350 go up to 450>, This is guess, there are other parts would stop the computer from booting: bad memory, CPU, motherboard opening or shorting out. If not power supply, just unplug everything except video card. Do the try to boot up? Turn off and add one item a time, if the new item kills the computer then replace the item for it has a short.
have your power supply checked out its extremely rare for a PSU to die from removing the cord (iv done it many times before) but unless your familiar with the insides of a pc get it checked out sounds to me like the PSU has failed some how or perhaps a connection is loose somewhere inside
It's possessed!
The only description of your problem is "my computer has since stopped working". That's really not a very complete or helpful description.
