Why can't I install joomla?

Imac OS X cant install the disk, please help?

Imac had to be wiped clean (everything had to be unistalled) and the computer shop told us to re-install the disk we receieved when we first brought the computer, the disk we recieved are Imac:Mac OS X Install DVD and Applications install DVD and IWorks. So Ive put in the Imac: Mac OS X install DVD and It goes through all the steps which are: Choose the Language: ENGLISH PREPARING INSTALLATION Install Mac OS X: To set up the installation of Snow Leopard, Click Continue: To repair the disk using Disk Utility, Restore your computer from a Time Machine Backup, or perform other tasks using utilities, choose an option from the utilities menu. I CLICKED CONTINUE an agreement came up I ACCEPTED Install Mac OS X: Selec GB free t disk where you want to install Mac Os X, (it has a picture of a hard drive) Maintosh HD At least 882.25 GB Free 999.86 GB Total; Mac OS X will be installed on the "Macintosh HD" Disk. To change the items you want to install, click customize. If I click on Customize these options come up: Essentail System SoftWare 3.84 GB (can not change this option) IS TICKED Printer Support: 699.2mb (options can be changed) IS TICKED Additional Fonts 49.6MB (Options can be changed) IS TICKED Language Translations 272.4MB(options can be changed) IS TICKED X11 67.5MB (options can be changed) IS TICKED Rosetta 2MB (option can be changed) IS NOT TICKED quicktime 7 (option can be changed) IS NOT TICKED So I close that then click on INSTALL: A message comes up saying "the contents of this disk can't be changed." Mac OS X Couldn't be installed on this disk" (the contents of this disk can't be changed) I can only now click on OK and GO BACK So how am I meant install the software I need on my mac?
Answer:

Go to the intro page of the setup that says "Welcome". Up the top of the screen should be a link marked "Utilities". In that is Disk Utility. Format the internal HDD for Mac OSX Journaled and then retry installing. Or you can try repairing the permissions on the drive.
