Help please..... computer speakers no longer giving out sound?

My computer's speakers are not putting out any sound. I checked my speakers with another computer. Work fine. Put new speakers on and still no sound, just annoying (humming) sound coming out of it. I did check out on the control panel and it shows like I should have sound. Now I'm like ok what is next.
