How do you get to paintbrush in Windows XP?

Is there a way to get windows xp back on the computer without buying a recovery cd? ?

  • Hi, my mom bought a secondhand computer, its a compaq presario. The person we bought it from has windows vista on it.. but the product key is invalid. We called up the company and they asked if there was a sticker on the side of the tower and there is but it is windows xp.. :S The guy told us that we would have to get windows xp back on the computer because we cant get windows vista unless we buy it. So, what i am wondering is, instead on paying $40 for a windows xp recovery cd.. is there a way to get windows xp back on the computer without buying a recovery cd? I need help asap.

    Nope. You will have to buy a FRESH install disc, which will enable to you set your computer up to how it was in the beginning. You can get Vista or XP install discs, if you are going to get vista GET THE FULL VERSION, you cant fresh install with an upgrade version.

Lol. Yeah the only way would be to go to places like *cough* "iso hunt" *cough* google it. Maybe there are install vids on youtube on burning an xp download to a disk but I don't know anything about that sort of stuff lol
