What is Virtual PC 2007?

Can you add USB to virtual pc 2007?

  • I've tried Virtual pc several times in Vista installing xp, which will run, but it won't show USB in hardware manager. Is it possible to add USB capability? I've seen you need a pro version but I have home premium Vista, I've also tried the add hardware manager, didn't work out for me. It will see my wireless mouse but that is about all I get. I also have a Windows 2000 pro cd I could try, but haven't yet. I Would like to play the older dos games with a usb joystick I have and works in Vista.

  • Answer:

What are you doing with Virtual PC? Why don't you try Virtual Box from Oracle(previously Sun microsystems) it can port your USB devices to a Virtual Machine and best off all it's free. Now if you have the money. Your best bet is VMware. It's what I use for almost anything that has to do with a virtual machine. Works especially great for testing new software before I actually install it on my PC. Get Virtual Box here: http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads Good luck and safe computing!!!
