Why do so many games advertise/suggest NVIDIA as a card to use over ATI?
-
The last 4-5 games I've played (Borderlands, Dragon Age, and so on) have had their normal splash screen, as well as the "NVIDIA, the way it was meant to be played" Screen. Is this because the dev's used NVIDIA Hardware to develop the games? Or simply NVIDIA paying for the advertisement.

Answer:
I think either of your suggestion is legit. perhaps both. I know that ATI has just recently released a new graphic card that performs better than any of Nvidia cards as of this moment.

probable that nvidia pay them, but also possible that the game has been tested on both nVidia and ATI cards, and nVidia gives the better quality?
