What can i do for my sis?

I have an SiS 630/730 Video card, what can I uprage to, where can I get it, and how much will it cost?

  • I have an SiS 630/730 Video card. It only has 2mb of memory, so I'm really interested in getting a new card. I'm not sure how to check what cards I'm compatible with, so if you told me how that would be great. If you already know what SiS 630/730 cards can upgrade to, then info on where I can get something better, and how much is will cost would be great. Thanks in advance.

    Well it's not the question of the video card that you can use in replace for it. The question is what video card that your mother board can handle. You should check the model of that mother that you use then research it over the internet then see what kind of video card that it can handle.

I believe the SiS 630/730 is integrated video. So it draws memory from your RAM instead of having it's own memory. You should provide your motherboard specs, that way it will be possible to tell what card buses are on your motherboard, then we could determine which cards are compatible with your system (PCI or AGP). Nvidia are good cards. It also depends on what you will be doing with your system. If you want to doing gaming, the price of the card will could be between $80 and a couple hundred (for a decent to excellent quality gaming card). However, if your not going to do any gaming, 3D rendering, or high quality video editing then you won't need such an expensive card.

Silicon Integrated Systems [SIS] 630/730 PCI/AGP VGA Display Adapter is Integrated Graphics. It isn't a card, it is built into the motherboard. The model number of the motherboard would allow you to look up its specifications and what slot interface it has for a video card.
