My Mac webcam isn't working in Photo Booth?

Why isn't my MAC web cam working on photo booth?!?

  • Ok so i have a MAC computer and when i try to go to photo booth it's completely black ?! nothing but black. It's not working and i'm not sure why? Not only on photo booth but every where i try using my webcam like iMovie or skype. So basically it's the webcam in general. i didn't do anything to it, it was fine a few minutes ago does anyone know what's going on or how to fix it ? i'm so bummed out :( Please and thank you in advance

    Close Skype or any other application that use your webcam. Then open photo booth again, see if it works. Make sure that is the only program running. Unless a piece of hardware is bad, I was able to fix my by restarting the computer and holding the SHIFT key. This will get you into safe mode. Login in safe mode (written in red on the login screen), wait few minutes and reboot without holding any keys. Your camera should work now! Good luck.
