How to make scroll bar drop with a down menu?

Don't buy this wireless mouse ....?

  • I know technically this isn't a question, but I think the warning can serve many different things; and maybe even answers people questions. I know I would have loved the warning before I bought mine oh and before I begin, this mouse is making a weird beeping type of sound, does anyone know what that is? The SwissGear Daytona II. I thought I would share this information, because if I knew about this ahead of time I would have never bought the mouse. Last night I bought a mouse from Wal-Mart, the product looked nice and had great features. It’s a 5 mouse button & its crap. If the mouse actually worked, it would be great, but it has major issues. You cannot browse through the folders on your computer. An example of this would be; if I opened my picture folder and wanted to scroll through the files, I cant. And even if you tried to use the the side bar slider, it won't make a difference, because when you try it’ll shoot right back up to the top. You cant use the drop down features with windows programs or any program for that fact. I’m a graphic designer and for me I use drop down menus all the time. So this was beyond annoying, because I kept having to turn the mouse off and use the touch pad on my laptop. You cannot use drop down menus in firefox, IE, or even websites like Google. An example of this would be Google's search feature. You can type part of something and Google will come up with suggestions, and you can roll over and click on whatever one you want. Well with this mouse you cannot do that. It'll make the suggestions disappear. Which is what happens whenever you try to use a drop down menu too. The only thing this mouse can actually do is, open files/folder and click on things to open or move them; and like one or two features of the web. Beside that, you’ll just be frustrated and annoyed. You'll feel like you want to smash the dang thing, I know I felt like that. Another downside of the product is the Company. Others, including myself have tried to find information on the company’s site. Only to find the product isn’t even listed there. So we can’t obtain any information, drivers/updates, etc. If you’re looking for a mouse, definitely do not choose this one. Not only am I having this problem, but A LOT of others are as well.

  • Answer:

Despite all your problems, I'm guessing your problem is caused by bad drivers, not bad hardware. Just uninstall the drivers that came with it, and let your op system install the generic drivers. Also, this mouse sounds like a Frankenmouse. A bunch of features that sound good but are totally worthless when put together in one body. For normal operation, you don't need all the bells and whistles you've described.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but you may find that you have better luck if you don't install the software/drivers that came with it. A lot of software that comes with off-brand keyboards and mice is complete junk, and you don't need it for standard devices. You may find that "special features" of the device don't work without the drivers or software. But usually those "special features" are useless and often they cause problems anyway. (Who the heck wants a 'power off' button right where they can accidentally press it when reaching for the right arrow? And how irritating is an automatic "back one web page" feature if you press to hard on your mouse wheel at an angle?)

Thanks for the information i don't want to waste time and money buying it
