Why cant I see my SD card pictures?

I have pictures on my SD card and i wanted them on my computer, so I put it in my computer and nothing is coming up, I also looked in My computer>removable storage devices and saw nothing. Where is it and why wont it come up? P.S. The SD card also has a little scratch on it, that might be an issue

First pull out your SD card and make sure you don't have it locked. There will be a sliding piece of plastic on the side with the word lock next to it.

another issue might be if you have an SDHC card some older PCs do not support them. try connecting your camera using the usb cable.
