How do wireless computer speakers work?

My computer doesn't work with my speakers! how do I fix this problem?

  • My speakers used to work perfectly fine. However, when I switched from Service Pack 2 (or 1, I forget) to Service Pack 3, they just stopped working (My computer is Windows XP). No, my speakers aren't broken; I've tested that. It's just that my computer can't "see" that I have speakers anymore. Through questions I've asked before, I've figured out that I need an update of my audio driver? but during the installation of the driver I downloaded from the Realtek website, an error occurred and now I'm just as clueless as ever before... What is going on?? I really want my speakers fixed up...

Had the same thing happen to me. Basically you do need to update your sound card drivers. I doubt if you need a new card (depending on how old the one you have now is). Another good idea is to (this is going to sound scary, but is relatively easy) remove your sound card and then put it back (re-seat it) in the slot. This will allow the system to see new hardware was added and properly sync it with the WIN SP3. If you're stomach isn't up to tinkering yourself, and the other advice isn't working, call on a pro to do the work for you. Also, do a Disk Clean Up to get rid of any and all old files that didn't download properly. They have a tendency to stick around if not taken care of. If you have a registry clean up tool, wonderful idea for older systems (3yrs or older).
