How to use a Cruzer USB flash drive?

My iMac G3 will not recognize my flash drive?

  • My iMac's has a tray loading disk drive and I cannot write or read any CD I put in there. So I try my flash drive, But no luck. It says the following when I plug in the flash drive. "The software needed to use the usb device "Cruzer" cannot be found. Please refer to the device documentation to install the necessary software." Iv tried, USB 1.0. and still no luck Its an older machine. Its OS is 8.6; Its an original bondy blue w/ a loading tray. If you could Please help me. I would appreciate it.

  • Answer:

CD issue: Try booting to the OS install CD. If that fails, the drive can be replaced. USB flash media issue: Most modern mini disks need USB 2.0 or at the very least, USB 1.1. The SanDisk site says USB 2.0 is needed.
