How do I fix the blurriness on my webcam?

• So I tried cleaning it, and now I read I need to go to software. i don't know anything about computers, so can anyone tell me how to go to the webcam settings and fix it? The problem is that even though it works, the image is blurry beyond recognition. Dont know how to fix it. Thanks all i know is that the webcam is Prestigio, 1.3 megapixels. on the back it says: pwc213 s/n wc21010601777

  I have *never* heard of a dirty lens that give blurry images. Remove dust from lens if any, don't bother with cleaning lens. There are 2 kinds of blur you'll find with webcams: Motion Blur: The image looks ok when nothing is moving, but things that are moving are all blurry. If the room is dark, add light in the room, this way the camera will spend less time exposing for each image. If this doesn't fix the problem, it is likely you have a crappy camera; an upgrade would make sense. All the time Blur: When even a non-moving scene is blurry, the issue is probably the camera's focus. On most cameras you can turn the lens like a knob. Look at the camera's live video and try to rotate the lens until the image comes into focus. Note that this is not something you can do if you camera has "auto-focus", where this process is automated. If your camera has auto-focus and isnot focusing, it is because the lens motor is dead, or because it is deactivated in the webcam's settings. The webcam's settings are hard to get to, it differs from one computer to the other. If you use the Webcam Zone Trigger software (download free http://www.zonetrigger.com ) you can go to the "Video Settings" tab on the front panel and click on the "Advanced Video Settings", then look for something that has to do with auto-focus. Note: Some recent HD webcams give really good images. Some lesser quality webcams just don't give the image you would expect, even when set correctly. Good luck!
