How do I connect my PC to my HDTV?

How do i connect a samsung hdtv to a pc with only usb ports in 1080p?

  • my samsung hdtv has a pc input (vga i think(blue with 3 rows of pins) and my gateway zx4300 computer has only usb ports out and a headphone style audio jack. i would like a cost effective way if possible via wires. my computer is only 8 feet from the pc input on my tv. or is there any way to do it through my wired network router i have hooked to my xbox pc and ps3?

firstly, you can't use a game console to connect to a computer. Your best bet is to buy a slightly more expensive computer (really anything above 300 dollars). If u don't want to do that, you can buy a USB to VGA converter (not a cable, a converter that either gets energy from your computer or plugs into the wall). I don't have experience with those, and I'm not sure how well they work, so I don't really recommend it. As for sound, you'll need an audio to RCA cable, which you can get pretty cheap online.
