How can I record a video using my webcam?

How do I record a video with audio using a webcam with a built in microphone? ?

  • My friend just bought this webcam, this webcam has a built in mic and we can't seem to get it to work. Any help would be great.

I've tried several programs, and it works the best for recording short (5-20 minutes) streaming videos as well. The Driver/Software Should be include in the installation disc you should able to find it from there!

Recording video with a webcam can be done with Windows Movie Maker, or with other software. This tutorial uses a free piece of software: http://www.pcauthorities.com/multimedia/record-video-with-your-webcam Make sure you select the webcam as the voice/recording source in your Windows sound settings. Vista right click volume icon on the taskbar > recording devices > highlight usb recording device > click default
