Are smaller portable hard drives reliable? And any suggestions on which to buy?
-
Providing someone buys a protective case and takes extreme care with a smaller hard drive, are they reliable? I was told by a friend that smaller hard drives commonly stop working without warning. I'd like to buy one to store my audio files, but only if the machines are reliable and won't make my whole collection disappear!

Answer:
Well my suggestions would always be to have your main system online, a first back up with a external hard drive like seagate or western digital, and a second back up of information on a disc. Seagate and Western Digital are very good quality brands.
