How do you drive a limo onto a drive way?

Is this a good way to explain about memory management of optical disk drive?

  • In memory management, optical disk drive is often referred to as a secondary storage because it performs read and/or write operations on to the disc slow as it is compared to a hard drive. It is also removable media storage since it can switch between media, data transfer from hard-drive to optical disc, for data backup etc. Optical disk drive is a non-violate memory because it will retain the data even if the power is off. CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, and BD-ROM are read-only, so you can read data from them any number of times, but you can't write to them. It is say the same for CD-R, DVD-R, and BD-R because not only you can’t read data from the optical disc in the optical drive many times but also you can write the data to the optical disc in the disc drive one time. Lastly for CD-RW, DVD-RW, and BR-RE drive, it can modified data from the hard drive so many times by writing the data slow and reading the data fast.

  • Answer:

Sounds pretty good. For recordable media, if the session is not closed you can write more information to the disc, but is does not overwrite the previous data. Also, there is a DVD+R format and DVD+RW, both similar to the DVD-R and DVD-RW. See the source for more info on the formats.
