Computer not reading external hard drive?

Calvary 500GB CAUE37500 Hard drive not reading on computer?

  • Ok, I have this Calvary Harddrive that I have had for two years, and because we moved a lot, I kept all of my computer files, music, pictures and videos on the hard drive because I didn't have a computer. About a year ago, the time I got an actual computer, I noticed the hard drive would not read in my new computer. I said no big deal and left it at that because all of my music and pictures were backed up on my PSP. Now I'm just curious to see what is on it, and it still does the same thing to me. It turns on, but the computer will not read it. I have taken it apart, and looked inside. Nothing is loose besides the USB mount on the hard drive. Is there any way to fix this or is the hard drive toast? It's not that I need it, I would just love to move some of my things from my computer to it to free up more space on my computer. If not, It's ok. thank you

  • Answer:

Hard drives crap out all the time. It's just a fact of life, and from the sounds of it that's what happened to yours.
