Installing iTunes for windows 7?

Installing windows 7 on my laptop, I want to backup my itunes info and my music is on an external HD?

Hello, I've been looking up itunes backup info and not really finding the answer I'm looking for. I want to install Windows 7 on my laptop, and want to preserve my itunes data. I've heard it's a bad idea to do the upgrade... that's what Leo Laporte says at least, to do a fresh install of 7. I'm not talking about backing up my whole library, which is about 150 gigs. My music folder is on an external harddrive. I just want to know how I can reinstall itunes on Windows 7 (from Vista) and have my playlists, podcasts, and library info preserved, step by step if possible. Thanks very much.
Answer:

windows 7, not a good idea. its still a prototype, it has many bugs and crashes. and playlists are saved as a separate file, if you have all the music files, then you wont have any problems
