How do I increase my graphics card resolution?

What are the problems with my graphics card?

  • what are the problems with my graphics card. Yesterday i bought a new nvidia GeForce FX 5500 AGP. I set the card in my AGP slot and connected my LCD monitor to new video port and started my PC. After that i found some lines in my screen when bios just starts and windows hangs after showing 'windows xp' loading screen. Then I started windows in VGA mode then it started and I installed the drivers of graphics card but still windows starts only in VGA and safemode with only 640*480 resolution and 8 bit colour quality. when I tried to increase resolution to 1024*768 and 32 bit colour quality using display properties then my screen goes black and monitor shows 'no signal'.Please tell me how to solve this problem by any means possible plz plz plz.God bless you.Thank you in advance. Also tell me how to edit graphics card bios.

as it already stated that your graphics card if faulty. you need to return it to your computer vendor. I suggest to take your CPU to the vendor and get your GFX card installed with a qualified Hardware engineer, and after installation check your PC at the shop. That's all. Hope it helps~!

sounds like the video card is incompatible // fried.
