Graphics card upgrade: PCI to PCIe possible or is the connection different?
-
I'm upgrading an old computer, its a Dell Dimension 3000 (before you tell me to get a new computer, I already have just doing some minor upgrades on this one for the fun of it). From what I'm getting my computer has a 64MB PCI stock Intel graphics card and I'm upgrading it to get atleast 128MB graphics which is going for $20 but I'm only coming across PCIe cards at my local stores and I'm not in the position to order online. So I was wondering the PCI bus supports PCIe cards and then I'd just have to download the appropriate drivers as for any graphics card upgrade or is there a whole other bus for PCIe?
