How do i step by step find out how much memory i have used?

Now when you uninstall and reinstall NOT saving anything you start back at factory setting Correct .So why would Verizon dick me around saying I need memory I haven't had the program back 8 months there is no music programs my son does not play online via computer Nothing.I have found out there security is not compatible with my browser but i need to prove i have memory .Please explain step by step how to do this Oh info i think is important.Verizon Fios I have a Dell Dimension 1100/B110 Desktop. So I was told by a TECH take of all the Verizon McAfee Security The Real Time scan The anti Virus The fire wall just temporarily and then close the browser re open it and go to websites I can completely trust and see if it is faster. Because the speed test shows I have the speed. well I did it a well I was super fast so my Security $5.99 a month since Oct 2009 and My Verizon Premium Technical Support $14.99 Since 0ct 2010 with a 10 month contract is Not actually compatible with my browser. I REALLY NEED HELP

    512mb of RAM is hardly enough. I had a Dimension 1100 and had if i remember rightly something like 3gb Ram. Put your computer details in here http://www.crucial.com and it will tell you what an 1100 is capable of.
