What is better interal or external tv tuner card?

    Get an internal TV Tuner if you want to record. The bandwith for internal is usually higher than external. I would only get external if I had a laptop and had no choice. Go Hauppauge or ATI if you want a tv tuner.

the external one would work on anything , its OS independant , you can directly plug it to your monitor and use it the internal ones on the other hand have a few compatibility problems in linux mostly in the cheap mercury/intex ones the internal one is more useful only if you want to record a lotta stuff , for only viewing and very little recording(which i think is possible by connecting it to a usb port) the external is better prices have fallen a lot during the last few months , you can get mercury / intex / tech-com would cost around 1k for internal and 1.5k for external while pinnacle and hauppage would be about 1k more __________________ I have my own thoughts , but i dont always agree with them ----------------------------------------… Wilma
