I have problem in burning my cd in video format but it doesn't work?

my problem is why is the cd is not working? The format of the video is .vob the google says it is the format for the dvd but it doesn't work. What is another format for the video to work in dvd?

Answer:
You can try AVI, MPEG, MOV. if you are trying to make a home movie you should try using the windows dvd maker that comes with vista, seven or xp.
